Innovation is the lifeblood of any technology company. At Citrix, our core values of integrity, respect, curiosity, courage, and unity have been chosen to nurture creative thinking and collaboration within our business. Nowhere is this more apparent than at our global tech fairs.

Each year, we hold tech fairs at our major campuses around the world where our product teams and engineers can demonstrate new product concepts and prototypes and showcase their great ideas. The most senior Citrix executives come to our tech fairs and view the demonstrations, question the teams, provide feedback, and determine which ideas to support.

Earlier this month, we held our UK tech fair at Newmarket Racecourse, near our innovation hub in Cambridge. We were particularly excited to welcome PJ Hough, Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer, and Jeroen van Rotterdam, Executive Vice President of Engineering. As it also coincided with our local Customer Council, some teams were even able to share their demonstrations directly with customers to get immediate feedback.

Citrix employees from across the UK also attended to circulate among the demos, listen to the presentations, and vote on their favourites, helping to break down silos and introduce teams to the creative new ideas that their colleagues have been working on.

For competitive reasons, we can’t share details on the breakthrough concepts presented at our tech fairs. However many of the ideas from previous events have made their way into Citrix products and services, and looking at the high quality of innovation on display, I anticipate that this year will be no different.

We are proud of our Citrix Tech Fairs. They are one way for our employees to share their brightest ideas and their most promising product and service concepts. I particularly enjoyed seeing many of our local interns and graduates getting involved in creating and sharing projects and demonstrations.

Our Cambridge campus is a UK centre of engineering excellence for Citrix, and the team there is a major contributor to our company’s vision and success. As we continue on our journey to become the preferred way to work for 1 billion people globally, the Cambridge site is key to our growth plan, and in the next year, we will be expanding the team by an additional 25 software engineers as part of our continued commitment to investing in and nurturing the best engineering talent in Cambridge and across the UK and EMEA.
