Did you know Citrix Workspace includes a file management solution?

Citrix Workspace is a comprehensive solution for managing apps, desktops and files. That’s right — files. As a Citrix Workspace customer, you have Citrix Content Collaboration included. It’s a comprehensive file sharing solution that unites data and documents into a single, secure platform. And the best part? Those documents and files show up in your Workspace view, alongside the apps and desktops employees are already using, making it even easier for them to access, share and collaborate.

Simplify Access to Data — No Matter Where It’s Stored

Mobile work is no longer a future state, and the workforce needs access to their files on a variety of devices — personal and corporate-issued. They are likely using a combination of cloud-based services today, in addition to their local hard drives. This mash-up of storage options can make it a challenge to find and share content.

Citrix Workspace includes Citrix Content Collaboration, making it even easier for employees to access their documents and files, no matter where they’re stored. With connectors to OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more, workers can access files through a single interface (Citrix Workspace), improving employee experience and simplifying IT management. You can harness Citrix-managed cloud storage or elect to use existing storage either on-premises or third-party-hosted as a home-storage deployment. Customers with Workspace Premium or Workspace Premium Plus can also enable connections to on-premises Network Shares and SharePoint on-premises. Simplify Collaboration Inside and Outside Your Company

Employees use the same method to collaborate and share content, regardless where data is stored (including OneDrive and SharePoint!). Share files both internally and externally with security policies that carry through all connected content repositories. Restrict how often files are accessed or prevent recipients from downloading shared files with view-only sharing and watermarking. By delivering a secure link to a single signer or group, employees can quickly capture legally-binding electronic signature fast and never worry about losing a document. Seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook® converts attachments into links and simplifies large file sharing both within and outside the organization, as shown in the below image. When editing files stored either on-premises and in the cloud, changes save back to Content Collaboration automatically. The rich, browser-based file viewing provides editing without requiring a download, including files in Office 365. Content Collaboration is not just a file browser. Users can collaborate on all documents such as network shares or third-party cloud repositories directly within their native file viewer, in a virtualized desktop or within Workspace. The following image shows how users can even initiate workflows and collect feedback while still within the native desktop.

Content Collaboration has built-in document feedback and approval workflows. Users can initiate a workflow, assign whom to get approval from, and set a due date and a sequence for approvals. Or, users can just collect feedback and start collaborating. As the image below shows, comments appear in-line. Internal or external collaborators can reply to comments all within the web browser and see changes.

How secure are your company’s files? How about the ones employees are sharing?

Citrix Content Collaboration, included in your Citrix Workspace, combines the simplicity of personal file sharing with enterprise-grade controls and security. Set controls to audit, track, and log all user activity to support compliance requirements and provide visibility into data usage.

Monitor Risk Scores for Content, Devices, and Applications with Citrix Analytics

Citrix Analytics uses machine learning to identify anomalies in user behavior and perform closed-loop actions. If Citrix Content Collaboration is not enabled, you are not monitoring how employees are sharing files. Analytics can monitor actions such as excessive downloads or uploads, sharing, and deletion.

A key feature is that the connected content is included in excessive behavior risk indicators when shared via Workspace. This includes on-premises SharePoint and Network Shares and for cloud content such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, or Google Drive. There is no need to manually monitor content. You can create rules for items like excessive file sharing and expiring shared links. The image below shows an example view of the Citrix Analytics dashboard highlighting a user excessively downloading sensitive files. Click the image to view larger.
