Load Balancer Enterprise ADC, an app published to Azure Marketplace, provides advanced Layer 4 and Layer 7 load balancing, automatically distributing incoming application traffic across Microsoft Azure-hosted workloads. Built for high-performing hybrid and multi-cloud environments, Load Balancer Enterprise ADC delivers solid performance and availability, intuitive traffic management, and 24/7 access to technical support.

Microsoft interviewed Denis Bosshard, Systems Engineer at Voicepoint in Switzerland, to learn what he had to say about the product.

What do you like best about Load Balancer Enterprise ADC?
Loadbalancer.org offers a full-featured load balancer which is very powerful and yet simple to set up on Azure thanks to the Azure Marketplace deployment. The administration manual has all the necessary information to implement the solution into your environment. The quick-start guide for Azure really helped us understand the concept behind the load balancer and how we needed to integrate that into the existing solution.

How has the product helped your organization?
We have been using Loadbalancer.org as our main cluster for our Voicepoint Cloud, and it's been working ever since. Loadbalancer.org listens to customers' feedback, and they offer new features and changes with every quarterly release. The maintenance windows are easy to do since you can switch individual servers to drain until all the connections are routed to the remaining back-end server. We had zero downtime during maintenance. One of our requirements was that the load balancer should be redundant and run in a cluster. With Loadbalancer.org you can have a cluster consisting of a primary (active) server and secondary (passive) server. If the primary server fails, the secondary server will take over and fulfill the redundancy we need.

How are customer service and support?
Loadbalancer.org offers premium support, which is outstanding. The reaction time is usually less than 15 minutes, even on weekends. They managed to bundle multiple open-source products in one package and still have in-depth knowledge of every part of their product. You can send them a support package for analysis, which can be downloaded from the Loadbalancer.org, and they will give you detailed feedback on what needs to be changed. Quick chat is another useful support tool because you can ask basic questions that get answered right away. If some clarification is needed, Loadbalancer.org will create a support ticket and get back to you with the answer.

Any recommendations to other users considering this product?
Since they offer a free trial on Azure Marketplace, I would give it a try and contact Loadbalancer.org for a quick introduction of their product. They will help you to set up a working test environment for the evaluation phase. You can try all the features of the load balancer for free and decide whether it fits in your environment.

What is your overall rating for this product?
5 out of 5 stars.
