Citrix Analytics for Performance is now generally available. A cloud service offering, Citrix Analytics for Performance enables admins to track, aggregate and visualize key performance indicators of Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops sites.

Though Citrix Analytics for Performance is a cloud offering, it can serve on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops sites, as well. And the best part? It can aggregate metrics of both on-prem and cloud Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops. The data from an on-prem site can be sent to Citrix Performance Analytics on Citrix Cloud to leverage the advanced analytical capabilities and site aggregation functionality. With just a few clicks, an on-prem site can be configured to be listed on Performance Analytics. Let’s take a look at the configuration details.

Configuring On-Prem Data Source for Citrix Performance Analytics

You must make this configuration on the Director for the on-prem Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site, at the site level. To configure more than one site, you’ll need to repeat the steps below for each Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site.

Prerequisites for Configuration

Before you go any further, make sure the following requirements are met:

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Version — The on-prem Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site components should meet the minimum version requirement for this functionality to be available. The Delivery Controller (DDC) and Director should be on version 1909 or later.

Connectivity — Please make sure that Director and DDCs can access the addresses below:

  • Citrix Key Registration: https://*.citrixnetworkapi.net/
  • Citrix Cloud: https://*.citrixworkspacesapi.net/
  • Citrix Analytics: https://*.cloud.com/
  • Microsoft Azure: https://*.windows.net/

If you have more than one DDC functioning on the on-prem Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site, ensure the above connectivity requirements from all the DDCs are met.

Citrix Cloud Permissions — You need an admin account on Citrix Cloud with rights to the product registration to perform the configuration. For more information about admin permissions, see Modify Administrator Permissions.

On-prem Permission — You need to be a full admin on the on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops site to perform this configuration.

Please note, the first time you configure a site, events from the site might take approximately an hour to be processed, delaying the display of metrics on the Performance Analytics dashboard. Events will refresh at regular intervals thereafter.

Troubleshooting Tips

The code to register is not available on Director.
Ensure the connectivity requirements on the Director machine are met. The machine on which the Director is installed must be able to reach the URLs below:

  • Citrix Key Registration: https://*.citrixnetworkapi.net/

  • Citrix Analytics: https://*.cloud.com/
  • Microsoft Azure: https://*.windows.net/

The data was available recently but now Performance Analytics is not able to get the new events.
Ensure you have active Citrix Cloud entitlement for Performance Analytics. Check if your trial is expired.

The Director and Monitoring service is behind the web proxy but is failing to route the traffic through proxy.
Ensure that the proxy configurations are correct on the machine where Director and Monitoring service is installed. Alternatively, configure proxy on Director web.config and Monitor.exe.config. Add the below configurations appropriately:
