How do you capture the magic of collaborative hallway conversations in hybrid and remote workstyles?

Some of the most creative and innovative times in my professional life have happened when I was with a group of colleagues, in the same room, or even a hallway — just letting the wave of inspiration wash over us. But, like many things, that all changed when the global pandemic set in.

Suddenly those brainstorming sessions turned into more of a sprinkle or brief squall.

Recently I was able to talk to two of the leading innovators in our industry: Chris Fleck (VP of technology and Technical Fellow at Citrix) and Chris Matthieu (CEO and Founder of XRPA.NET). Together they introduced me to a Citrix Workspace integration called Grouproom.io.

What started as a way to reduce the need to travel for face-to-face, in-person magic and teamwork has evolved. With Grouproom, integrated into Citrix Workspace, groups of people can get together, collaborate and experience that virtual watercooler style of collaboration. Let the neurological sparks of creativity fly.

Now people can drop into relevant conversations, stop by someone’s virtual office, or grab a spontaneous cup of coffee with peers when a key word is mentioned.

“Spatially aware proximity chat!” I think I’ll make that my new catch phrase. 😊
